About The Role

As the 2nd Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the dredger's engine and mechanical systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in achieving project goals and maintaining the vessel's performance and safety standards.

Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of the dredger's engine and mechanical systems.
Monitor and optimize engine performance, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks as per the vessel's maintenance schedule.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, implementing effective solutions.
Supervise and guide the engineering team, providing technical support and training as needed.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all engineering activities.
Collaborate with other departments to coordinate dredging operations and ensure seamless project execution.
Stay updated with industry advancements and best practices in dredging engineering.
Represent NMDC Group PJSC professionally and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer or similar role in the dredging industry.
A valid Chief Engineer's license or equivalent certification.
In-depth knowledge of marine diesel engines and mechanical systems.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
Familiarity with dredging equipment and processes is preferred.
Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Willingness to work onboard a dredger for extended periods.
Excellent physical health and ability to perform manual labor.
A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to maintenance.
