About The Role

A. ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To architect, administer, and optimise AirBorneo’s hybrid network, server, and cloud infrastructure ecosystems for maximum uptime, high-speed performance, and strict cost efficiency.
  • To provide dedicated technical administration, rigorous environment monitoring, and comprehensive resource optimization ensuring that both cloud consumption and network utilization are tightly controlled to deliver faster data pipelines at a lower operational cost.
  • Directly supports departmental and company-wide goals by preventing infrastructure bottlenecks, maximizing system efficiency, and driving down total cost of ownership (TCO) across cloud and network investments.

B. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • High-performance, low-latency network routing; optimized, cost-effective cloud and on-premise environments; well-managed memory and compute resources; streamlined pipeline workflows; and verified disaster recovery backup operations.
  • Cloud and network cost-optimization initiatives, infrastructure tuning projects, deployment of network equipment at regional offices/airports, routine patch deployments, and capacity-planning reports.
  • High infrastructure uptime targets, reduction in cloud and network operational expenditures (cost per usage), improved throughput/pipeline speeds, and timely resolution of L2/L3 support tickets.
  • The incumbent is responsible for administering Windows and Linux servers, virtual machines, and cloud instances (AWS/Azure) while actively managing memory resources and tracking consumption-based costs to eliminate financial and computational waste; performing continuous environment monitoring, performance tuning, and bottleneck identification to accelerate data and operational pipelines; configuring and troubleshooting network switches, routers, firewalls, and Wi-Fi access points; and managing enterprise storage arrays (SAN/NAS) alongside executing routine backup operations and infrastructure patches.
  • Incident and problem management, infrastructure patch cycles, continuous cost-monitoring workflows, and performance optimization reviews.
  • Tracking resource utilization dashboards, generating cost-variance reports for cloud/network spend, conducting vulnerability assessments, and coordinating with technical teams on disaster recovery drills.

C. ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • End-to-end management of hybrid server environments, cloud resource footprints, network routing/switching hardware, environment monitoring tools, and the continuous financial and resource cost-control framework for cloud and comms.
  • Leaner, faster infrastructure pipelines achieved through proactive optimization, combined with minimized financial waste across cloud consumption and network bandwidth.
  • Right-sizing recommendations for cloud instances and memory resources, network routing efficiency adjustments, and decisions impacting infrastructure spend versus performance trade-offs.

D. AUTHORITY

  • Execution of performance tuning strategies, right-sizing of underutilized cloud instances or memory allocations, implementation of cost-saving network routing changes, and standard maintenance schedules.
  • Approval of routine operational change tickets, resource scaling actions within approved budget guardrails, and tactical system access requests.
  • Direct oversight and stewardship of cloud resource consumption quotas, network bandwidth usage parameters, server memory allocations, and hardware/virtual assets.
  • Major infrastructure overhauls exceeding predefined cost thresholds, architectural redesigns affecting core business applications, and unpredicted spikes in cloud or network expenditures.

E. DELEGATION OF DUTIES

  • Designated peer Analyst / Senior Analyst within the Infra & Cloud Services team, or as assigned by the Manager/Lead.
  • Daily environment health monitoring, routine performance tracking, backup execution checks, and handling tier-1/tier-2 support tickets.
  • Planned leave (annual/medical), training attendance, or emergency absence.
  • Cannot approve permanent architecture changes, modify core cloud cost guardrails, or alter high-level network firewall and security routing policies without managerial sign-off.

F. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • None strictly mandatory at entry; relevant professional certifications are a strong advantage.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in network administration, systems engineering, and cloud environment management.
  • Candidates must possess a solid working knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, and Active Directory, combined with proven experience administering cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) alongside a strong focus on resource optimization, cost governance, and advanced capability in monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning memory, compute, and network environments to enhance pipeline speed and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical mindset for financial and technical data correlation, proactive attitude toward cost reduction and performance tuning, and effective communication skills.
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT governance frameworks, cost-management best practices (e.g., FinOps principles), and aviation data security standards.
