About The Role

Job Summary

The Production Coordinator operates a variety of production and bindery equipment and provides mechanical production support to produce and deliver high-quality finished products. Verifies product specifications and utilizes cost-effective production methods as directed. Coordinates with the departmental team to meet production demands using the BMC website and custom ordering and workflow systems. Performs routine equipment maintenance and communicates equipment repair or maintenance needs to the Production Director.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge and experience in print production operations, including prepress, offset printing, digital printing, wide-format printing, and associated technical protocols.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of methods and techniques used to produce high-quality printed materials, displays, signage, and promotional products.
  • Knowledge of color management systems, including digital file preparation requirements for offset and digital printing, color profiling using a spectrophotometer, registration methods, bindery techniques, and paper stocks.
  • Operational knowledge of finishing and bindery equipment, processes, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of print production planning, scheduling, and workflow coordination to meet customer demand and project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of estimating job costs, supplies, materials, and other production resources, including cost-control, quality-control, and logistical considerations.
  • Ability to safely operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform routine repairs on production equipment.
  • Ability to instruct and oversee others in the safe operation of production equipment, including equipment that may present safety hazards.
  • Knowledge of Mac and PC platforms, graphics processes, and relevant software, including EFI Fiery, FusionPro, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office, as well as associated peripherals such as scanners and wide-format printers.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information related to high-end graphics software, raster image processing (RIP) software, production equipment, and hardware.
  • Ability to understand and effectively utilize online traffic, ordering, and production workflow systems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in determining appropriate strategies and methods for project development and production.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and adhere to ETSU policies and procedures when coordinating supply purchases and outsourced printing services.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing demands, and consistently meet production deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree and three (3) years of experience in progressively responsible roles within the printing industry

OR

  • A combination of education and work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Extensive customer service experience demonstrating the ability to manage client relationships and expectations.
  • Experience with digital media desired, and its integration into print and cross-platform projects.
  • Proven ability to successfully execute projects across multiple media formats with adaptability and precision.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary – MR 4 ($36,809.75)
