About The Role

Key Responsibilities

Bank Reconciliation

  • Perform independent and timely bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve unreconciled items, discrepancies, and outstanding transactions.
  • Coordinate directly with banking partners for resolving transaction issues, obtaining statements, and managing banking queries.
  • Monitor cash/float movements and ensure accurate recording of bank transactions.

Accounting & Financial Controls

  • Review, validate, and post accounting transactions in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Verify accounting entries, journal postings, and reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Transaction Validation & Approvals

  • Review payment requests and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Validate transactions before processing and obtain necessary approvals as per the delegation of authority matrix.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial governance requirements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Follow up with banks regarding transaction queries, payment investigations, account maintenance, and banking documentation.
  • Liaise with IT teams to resolve ERP, banking interface, and system-related issues impacting finance operations.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to obtain supporting information and resolve accounting-related queries.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting operations.
  • Experience in bank reconciliations and transaction review is essential.
  • Experience working in a corporate finance environment is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Proven experience in independent bank reconciliation.
  • Good understanding of transaction validation and approval processes.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
