About The Role

Connexus Hub Inc. is a woman-owned small business that supports federal agencies with professional and technical services. We are hiring six mid-level Instructional Designers for a federal corrections training modernization program.

This is production work with a clear finish line. The program revises and modernizes an existing catalog of e-learning courses, builds new micro courses on hard-skills corrections subjects, develops blended courses that combine self-paced content with live facilitation, and revises a resident classroom curriculum. You will own courses end to end and work directly with a Corrections Subject Matter Expert who validates every course for operational accuracy before it reaches the customer. The work is fully remote and this position is contingent on contract award.

What you will do

  • Identify performance, knowledge, and skill gaps and design instructional and performance support solutions that close them.
  • Apply adult learning theory and a named instructional design methodology — ADDIE or successive approximation — to conduct needs, task, and audience analyses.
  • Develop competency-based, technology-mediated curricula across instructor-led and e-learning formats, built to industry standards and to federal accessibility requirements.
  • Revise and modernize existing e-learning courses, including courses that must be condensed and combined under a seat-time ceiling and courses rebuilt from published materials where no editable source file exists.
  • Work with the Corrections Subject Matter Expert to research content, resolve issues, and confirm technical accuracy through the development lifecycle.
  • Own the stage-gate record for each assigned course through analysis, design, development, validation, and publication, and meet the written exit criteria at each stage.

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education, communications, or a related field.
  • Five or more years designing and developing instructor-led and e-learning training for adult learners.
  • Production-level proficiency in ELB Gold Suite Studio (Lectora) and Articulate 360 Suite. This is a screening requirement and you will be asked about specific projects.
  • Demonstrated e-learning development and packaging experience, including SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004.
  • Working knowledge of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and the ability to build to a conformance checklist rather than remediate at the end.
  • Availability during core hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday.

What helps

  • Corrections, law enforcement, or public safety training content experience.
  • Adobe Creative Suite and Envato Elements.
  • Publishing to an enterprise learning management system; SuccessFactors specifically is a plus.
  • Review and comment-resolution workflows such as ReviewLink.
  • Prior work on a federal contract with formal deliverable review and acceptance cycles.

Details

  • Employment type: full time, approximately 1,860 hours per year. Overtime is not authorized on this program.
  • Location: fully remote from anywhere in the United States. No travel is required.
  • This position is contingent on award of the contract to Connexus Hub Inc. and on any background or suitability screening the customer requires.
