About The Role

Job Purpose

To evaluate, approve, and oversee Business Banking credit proposals, including Islamic financing and Corporate Credit Cards, within delegated authority and approved policy guidelines. Ensure high-quality underwriting, regulatory compliance, effective risk management, and timely decision-making while driving process improvements, staff development, operational efficiency, and digital transformation initiatives to enhance customer experience and productivity.

Key Result Areas

Credit Analysis

  • Analyze Business Banking credit proposals and render credit decisions within delegated authority, ensuring compliance with approved credit parameters, satisfactory internal and external system checks, and validation of business cash flows sufficient to service existing and proposed borrowing facilities.
  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of credit proposals and recommend appropriate risk mitigants to support the requested credit limits.
  • Record and maintain all credit proposals within the approved credit workflow system and update credit decisions accurately and timely.
  • Ensure all credit proposals are aligned with Product Program Guidelines (PPGs), Credit Policy requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and recommend measures to enhance team productivity and operational effectiveness.
  • Undertake strategic projects aimed at improving unit productivity and strengthening lending products, credit policies, and underwriting frameworks.

Exception Identification

  • Identify and assess exceptions or deviations from approved credit parameters, policy requirements, and collateral compliance standards.
  • Escalate significant deficiencies, risks, and policy breaches to the Assistant Manager for timely resolution and follow-up.
  • Ensure achievement of daily productivity targets while maintaining the highest standards of credit quality.
  • Deliver superior service to internal and external stakeholders by adhering to agreed turnaround times (TATs) and service standards.

Training, Testing & Process Enhancement

  • Actively participate in automation and digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Contribute to training, user acceptance testing (UAT), and implementation activities coordinated by the Quality and Process Excellence teams.
  • Support the onboarding and on-the-job training of new team members to ensure effective knowledge transfer and capability development.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment by promoting engagement, motivation, and knowledge sharing.

Credit Policy, Product Manuals & Operational Governance

  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and enhancement opportunities within Credit Policies, Product Program Guidelines, and operational manuals.
  • Recommend policy amendments, procedural enhancements, and product improvements to strengthen risk management and portfolio quality.
  • Continuously review operational processes and controls, recommending improvements to mitigate risks and improve efficiency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Graduate with 5 years’ work experience in Credit Management environment.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in SME/ Business Banking Credit underwriting.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills
  • Good PC skills.
  • Ability to problem solving and work independently.
  • Should be client-driven and achievement oriented.
