As a Machinist III , you will be responsible for

  • Determining machining setup requirements by reviewing blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, manuals, and work instructions
  • Measuring, marking, and scribing dimensions on materials to support machining operations
  • Operating machining equipment to manufacture components to precise specifications and tolerances
  • Verifying conformance of finished products using precision measurement instruments, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and optical comparators
  • Performing preventive maintenance activities on machining equipment to ensure operational reliability
  • Maintaining compliance with quality, productivity, and safety standards to support manufacturing objectives
  • Supporting additional duties, projects, and operational requirements based on business needs
  • Ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to established manufacturing procedures
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and operational performance

To be successful in this role you will

Education & Experience

  • Have a High School Diploma or GED
  • OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
  • Have 1-2 years of experience in a job shop or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills

  • Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude
  • Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
  • Possess intermediate mathematical and reading skills
  • Have experience operating turning and milling machines
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate manual machining equipment as required
  • Possess working knowledge of lathes, mills, and other machine shop equipment
  • Have basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing systems and processes
  • Be proficient in using precision measuring and inspection equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Have the motor skills necessary to safely operate machinery, tools, and manufacturing equipment
  • Be able to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8–10-hour shift
  • Be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques
  • Be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and safety footwear
  • Have the flexibility to work overtime, alternate shifts, and weekends as business needs require

The hourly pay scale for this position is between $ 20.71 - $34.49.

Candidates for this role (office-based) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes' good-faith estimate of the minimum and maximum pay for this position at the time of posting and applies to the possible locations for this position.

Baker Hughes will issue a non-bias competitive offer; the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hires. Full-time salaries in some U.S. locations may not include equity or benefits.

Where an applicant ultimately falls within the pay range/scale depends on a variety of factors, including geographic work location, skillset, qualifications, internal pay alignment, level of experience, and demonstrated performance over time.

Please keep in mind that the range stated above is the full base salary range for the role and does not include other forms of compensation. Your recruiter can share more.
