The Hydro testing operator plays a crucial role in our manufacturing process, responsible for pressure and leak testing various rupture disc and holder assemblies according to OE Procedures, lot cards, drawings, and work orders. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute directly to the production of high-quality pressure relief solutions.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Determine the required test pressure for assemblies.
  • Set up the proper flange set for the size of the assembly.
  • Operate various hand tools such as a torque wrench, impact wrench, etc.
  • Operate forklift, winches, various lifting equipment to pick up flanges.
  • Perform pressure testing with hydraulic pumping equipment.
  • Accurately record pertinent testing data on various forms.
  • Effectively operate air and hydraulic presses, ovens, power and hand shears, nibblers, testing process.
  • Assure that all products are leak free, meeting specification requirements, current work instructions and dispatched on time.
  • Proactively notify the appropriate supervisor of any arising problems, while developing effective work plans to maintain job schedules.
  • Conduct meticulous checks and implement necessary corrections on all parts to exceed customer expectations.
  • Effective verbal communication skills exhibiting OE Values and Behaviours.
  • Working knowledge of OE Company Handbook & Safety Policies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Aptitude in applying basic mathematical concepts for measurements and calculations, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Capability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Competence in problem-solving involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic computer skills to navigate business systems and preform data entry.
  • Attention to detail in data entry to the ERP System clocking into jobs to accurately record time on the job.
  • Experience using business systems such as SAP, Epicor, Oracle, or D365.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Effective multitasking capabilities, enabling efficient workflow management.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate flanges up to 50# (equipment is provided to lift overweight equipment. However, it would not be feasible/efficient to lift all items with equipment)
  • Ability to use hand tools and read torque wrench settings

Education and Certification Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
