About The Role

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Operator is responsible for operating machines and production equipment safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment while meeting quality, productivity, cost, and delivery requirements. The role supports assembly and manufacturing operations, performs quality inspections, follows standard work procedures, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives. The incumbent is expected to work independently with limited supervision, maintain high safety standards, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manual and automated production equipment in accordance with quality, safety, and productivity standards.
  • Meet daily production targets while maintaining defined cycle times and engineering standards.
  • Perform assembly and manufacturing operations ensuring product quality and adherence to process documentation.
  • Conduct routine quality inspections and identify, segregate, and report non-conforming materials.
  • Apply quality tools such as SPC, poka-yoke, visual management, and basic problem-solving techniques to improve product quality.
  • Perform planned operator care, routine maintenance, machine cleaning, and workplace housekeeping activities.
  • Conduct internal audits such as 5S and Layered Process Audits (LPA) to ensure workplace compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing processes, automation, quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams, maintenance personnel, skilled trades, and support functions to resolve equipment and process issues.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE), IATF, and company manufacturing standards.
  • Report safety hazards, quality concerns, equipment issues, and production abnormalities promptly.
  • Participate in training, skill development, and knowledge-sharing activities, including coaching team members where required.
  • Work effectively across all three shifts based on business requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, ITI, Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Additional technical certifications in manufacturing, welding, robotics, automation, or production systems will be an added advantage.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of Quality Control (QC) tools and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and mass production assembly line operations.
  • Basic understanding of welding processes and various welding techniques.
  • Familiarity with cobot and robot teaching concepts.
  • Working knowledge of IATF standards, HSE Management Systems, and manufacturing compliance requirements.
  • Basic understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts, machine automation, and smart manufacturing practices.
  • Knowledge of TBWS structure and manufacturing systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint) and Oracle ERP.
  • Ability to perform quality inspections and interpret manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Flexibility to work in rotating shifts and adapt to changing production priorities.

Experience

  • Some relevant manufacturing or production experience, or intermediate-level knowledge gained through education, vocational training, apprenticeship, or on-the-job experience.
  • Experience in assembly line manufacturing, machine operation, welding, or industrial production environments is preferred.
  • Exposure to automation, robotics, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices will be an added advantage.
