Valmet Country Finance Senior Accountant supports in ensuring compliance with local and IFRS reporting standards, statutory and taxation requirements, and group financial policies for legal entities. This role supports the Finance Manager for the UK legal entity in managing audits, tax compliance, internal controls, and legal entity governance while supporting structural changes and integrations.
As Senior Accountant, you will be part of Valmet global Operational Finance, Country Finance team.
You will be responsible for
- Ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance of legal entity financial statements.
- Complying with business related tax obligations, accounting standards (IFRS, LGAAP), and other regulations.
- Providing support on accounting and reporting matters to Global Financial Operations, other internal, and external stakeholders.
- Coordinating and completing annual statutory audit and group audit reviews. Monitoring the progress and discussing findings with auditors, Operational, Group and Business Finance.
- Monitoring correctness of balance sheet and taking actions with other responsible parties when needed.
- Supporting legal entity-related topics with local authorities (e.g., statistical reports).
- Liaising with local external partners (e.g. HMRC).
- Supporting with planning and estimation
What you need to be successful
- Finance, Accounting recognised qualification – CIMA, ACA or ACCA
- Previous working experience (3+ years) within financial accounting and reporting preferably in an international business environment
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Experience and knowledge of finance solutions and ERP systems
- Ability to drive change and adapt quickly to changing business models and processes
- Proven resilience in a changing business environment
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Understanding of business model, and way to operate in a global matrix organization
- High degree of personal drive, with the initiative to solve problems in a pragmatic, time effective manner
- Excellent communication skills.
