About The Role

Overview of the Team / Role

Given the growth of the Greater China business, an opportunity has arisen to support the Greater China distribution team within Nuveen’s Institutional Sales team. As the team expands, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a collegiate environment to help drive sales and deliver a purposeful client experience. The distribution team works closely with institutional investors, their investment advisors, as well as financial institutions and platforms.

The role offers an opportunity to work with the largest institutional investors, across the broadest possible set of investment products. The successful candidate will also be able to build on their experience through training in product knowledge, process & systems, and relationship management skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to help broaden Nuveen's institutional client base across Greater China, including coordinating and leading periodic investment catch-ups with investors.
  • Prepare sales and consultant leads for external client meetings, collating relevant background on prior engagements and prospect/client information.
  • Coordinate and lead key client and prospect meetings and events, attending as required and driving ongoing engagement to strengthen existing relationships.
  • Manage client and consultant requests and communications, ensuring timely and consistent follow-through.
  • Identify opportunities and support pipeline generation across Nuveen's investment capabilities, including through conferences and networking events.
  • Coordinate the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, partnering with investment affiliates to ensure appropriate coverage across investment products and solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance client and internal data in systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency across platforms.
  • Support the preparation of business planning and strategy materials, including materials communicating the Greater China distribution plan internally.
  • Deliver standard reporting and data management across business channels.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Asset management background preferred with a good understanding of the Greater China market including key industry trends and developments.
  • Demonstrable track record within institutional sales support, as well as building strong working relationships
  • Strong skills in MS Office product suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required
  • Proficient in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business or equivalent discipline

  • Ability to handle large volumes of work and prioritize appropriately, meet tight deadlines, and possess strong attention to detail
  • Utilize qualitative and quantitative tools to analyse, synthesize and interpret information, and communicate it clearly and succinctly
  • Coordinate various data and information into effective messaging that resonates with internal and external clients
  • Possess a partnership mind-set and engage with teams across the firm
  • Self-motivated, team player with strong work ethic
  • Ability to build relationships across global teams
