About The Role

Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states.

To be part of this project, we are looking for System Engineer . The responsibilities of the position are as follows

Responsibilities

  • Perform satellite constellation and spacecraft systems-engineering activities for the IRIS² Low LEO programme.
  • Prepare technical inputs to Satellite and Launch Services RFPs and support technical evaluations and supplier selection.
  • Support technical and contractual negotiations for satellite and launch-service procurements.
  • Coordinate and follow satellite design, manufacturing, integration and testing activities at unit, subsystem and system levels.
  • Prepare for and participate in system, subsystem, equipment and programme reviews with manufacturers, suppliers and institutional stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable requirements, standards and regulatory constraints and maintain key system budgets and interfaces.
  • Support launch-campaign preparation and execution, Launch and Early Operations Phase and commissioning activities.
  • Support the Satellite In-Orbit Test campaign and assess on-orbit satellite health and performance.
  • Investigate system-level anomalies and coordinate technical resolution and follow-up actions.
  • Prepare regular technical status and progress reports.

Minimum requirements

  • Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in satellite or spacecraft systems engineering.
  • Experience in satellite procurement, manufacturing or in-orbit operations for GEO or LEO missions.
  • Experience in large European Union or ESA programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of satellite equipment and subsystems, system budgets, interfaces and telecommunications analyses.
  • Experience in requirements engineering and system-level verification and validation.
  • Knowledge of launch services, satellite manufacturing and Assembly, Integration and Test.
  • Experience with launch campaigns, LEOP and Satellite In-Orbit Testing.
  • Knowledge of Ground Station operations and network management is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Python or MATLAB is considered an asset.
  • Nationality of an EU Member State and willingness to undergo an EU Secret clearance process.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; any other European language is considered an asset.
