About The Role
Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states.
To be part of this project, we are looking for Platform Engineer . The responsibilities of the position are as follows
Responsibilities
- Support the definition, design and development of the satellite platform and its electrical, avionics, mechanical, thermal and related subsystems.
- Define and review platform requirements, architectures, budgets and interfaces with the payload, launcher and Ground Segment.
- Support the technical procurement of platform equipment and follow suppliers throughout design, manufacturing, integration and acceptance.
- Prepare for and participate in unit-, subsystem- and system-level design, manufacturing, integration and test reviews.
- Monitor requirements compliance, technical risks, non-conformances and design changes affecting platform performance.
- Support satellite Assembly, Integration and Test activities and resolution of platform-level anomalies.
- Support the launch campaign, Launch and Early Operations Phase and In-Orbit Test campaign.
- Assess on-orbit platform health and performance and support anomaly investigation and resolution.
- Prepare regular technical status and progress reports.
Minimum requirements
- Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in satellite platform engineering.
- Experience in platform procurement, equipment manufacturing and/or in-orbit operations for GEO or LEO satellites.
- Strong knowledge of one or more satellite platform domains, such as electrical power, avionics and data handling, harness and EMC, AOCS/GNC, propulsion, structures, mechanisms or thermal control.
- Experience with requirements, interfaces, technical budgets and equipment or subsystem reviews.
- Experience in satellite manufacturing, Assembly, Integration and Test and acceptance activities.
- Knowledge of launch campaigns, LEOP and satellite In-Orbit Testing.
- Experience in large European Union or ESA space programmes is considered an asset.
- Nationality of an EU Member State and willingness to undergo an EU Secret clearance process.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; any other European language is considered an asset.
