The opportunity

We're looking for a Risk & Compliance Business Partner to join our Line 2 Risk & Compliance team.

In this role, you'll partner closely with leaders across Customer Operations, providing compliance advice, risk oversight and constructive challenge across a broad range of operational risk and compliance matters.

Your initial focus will be supporting Superannuation Administration, Investment Operations and Managed Accounts. You’ll play a hands-on role in supporting compliance and risk management across the broader Customer Operations business, providing practical guidance on operational matters and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of Netwealth’s risk and compliance framework.

We're looking for someone who can build trusted relationships with stakeholders, foster a strong risk culture, provide practical compliance advice and contribute to the ongoing uplift of risk and compliance practices.

What you’ll be doing

  • Act as a trusted Line 2 Risk & Compliance Business Partner supporting Customer Operations across a broad range of operational risk and compliance matters.
  • Partner with leaders to identify, assess and manage incidents, breaches, remediation activities and compliance obligations.
  • Prepare and present risk and compliance reports, dashboards and insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead and support risk assessments, execute control design and operating effectiveness testing including identifying opportunities to strengthen controls and improve compliance outcomes.
  • Provide independent advice, oversight and constructive challenge to support sound risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the preparation of management, Committee and Board reporting, including the analysis and presentation of key risk and compliance insights.
  • Identify opportunities to improve governance, controls and compliance practices, supporting the ongoing uplift of the Risk & Compliance function.

About you

You’re a commercially minded, pragmatic compliance professional who understands how to partner closely with the business to solve problems.

You may currently work in a compliance advisory, operational compliance or Line 1 compliance role and be looking to further develop your career within a Line 2 Risk & Compliance function. You bring strong financial services experience and are comfortable interpreting regulatory requirements and translating them into practical, risk-based advice. You have experience partnering with stakeholders to strengthen risk and compliance frameworks, controls and governance practices.

You're comfortable interpreting regulatory requirements and understanding operational processes, translating both into practical, risk-based compliance advice that supports business outcomes.

You enjoy working across multiple stakeholders, managing competing priorities and making a tangible impact in a fast‑growing organisation.

Experience & qualifications

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in Risk & Compliance, Compliance Advisory, Operational Risk or similar roles within financial services.
  • Experience operating in a Line 2 Risk & Compliance environment, or in a Line 1 compliance role with demonstrated capability and readiness to transition into a Line 2 position.
  • Experience using risk management systems.
  • Strong expertise in incident and breach management, compliance advisory, regulatory compliance and compliance management.
  • Ability to provide independent challenge while building trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of risk and compliance frameworks and their practical application within complex organisations.
  • Experience supporting or working within superannuation administration, back-office investment operations or platform operations environments.
  • Understanding of operational processes such as superannuation rollovers, benefit payments, corporate actions, asset administration or trade operations, will be highly regarded.
