
Product Engineer Mobile Racking

About The Role
The Product Engineer Mobile Racking is responsible for taking ownership of the mobile racking system, driving its technical improvement and supporting complex service activities. He/she acts as a key interface between field operations and engineering, contributing to product evolution, performance optimization and technical solutions for retrofit.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Works as technical owner of the mobile racking system in service, developing a deep understanding of its design, functionality and limitations.
- Proposes engineered solutions to upgrade the installed base and create value for the customer, developing standard modernization packages.
- Analyses system performance identifies recurring issues and proposes structural improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives on the product (retrofit, installation, maintenance).
- Acts as the interface between field operations and engineering by translating customer and technician feedback into concrete technical evolutions.
- Supports technicians as an advanced technical expert on mobile racks and contributes to solving complex issues when required.
- When necessary, performs on-site interventions to understand root causes and validate technical solutions.
- Collaborates closely with internal departments such as Research and Development, Project Engineering and Production to develop and implement product improvements.
- Contributes to the definition and standardization of technical solutions and best practices.
- Supports the preparation and validation of technical offers for complex cases, ensuring feasibility and consistency.
- Participates in the long-term evolution of the mobile racking system, with the objective to increase performance, robustness and scalability.
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Automation or a related field.
- You have at least a first engineering experience or relevant internship/thesis, preferably in the material handling, manufacturing, automation, machine, or aerospace industries.
- Notions of functional safety, performance levels and risk analysis.
- You have a keen interest in the full product picture, including electrical engineering, mechanical design and software.
- You are an innovative and autonomous team player.
- You are an analytical problem solver.
- English is a must (C1 or higher).
- Knowledge of Dutch is highly recommended.
