Job Title
Lab Coordinator Job Description
The Laboratory Coordinator supports daily Quality Control laboratory operations by receiving, reviewing, and logging laboratory samples, chemicals, reagents, standards, solvents, and other materials into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). The position supports laboratory functions including glassware washing, equipment cleaning, coordination of external testing shipments, inventory management, and ordering laboratory supplies while ensuring compliance with cGMP and company requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, review, and log samples, chemicals, reagents, standards, solvents, and other materials into LIMS.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in accordance with cGMP requirements.
- Wash, inspect, and store laboratory glassware using approved procedures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory support equipment including balances, pH meters, and glassware washers.
- Coordinate shipment of QC samples to external testing laboratories.
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and work areas.
- Monitor inventory levels and order laboratory chemicals, standards, consumables, and supplies.
- Support Quality Control personnel with routine laboratory activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Stakeholders
- Internal: Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Warehouse and Materials Management, Manufacturing Operations
- External: Contract Testing Laboratories, Vendors, Suppliers, Customers/Clients as applicable
Required Competencies
- Knowledge of cGMP and USP requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, LIMS, and internet tools
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Problem-solving and time-management skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize activities
- LIMS experience preferred
Education & Experience
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in a scientific field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of laboratory or related experience in a GMP-regulated environment. LIMS experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and perform routine laboratory support activities. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and wear required PPE.
