Associate Test Lead - Automation (selenium, Playwright)

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation of modern test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Oversee test architecture, ensuring scalability and maintainability of automation solutions.
  • Promote shift-left testing practices and support developers in embedding quality.
  • Implementation of automation frameworks for middleware and backend service-based applications in critical infrastructure design.
  • Designing and executing automated tests on the latest revisions of the software.
  • Participating in the development of our automated testing framework, assisting our move towards automated testing in a CI/CD environment.
  • Interpreting requirements from existing manual test cases and specification documents.

Liaising with Manual Testers and / or Business Analysts to understand the requirements.

  • Liaising with the product and development teams to ensure that our backlog is up to date
  • Providing estimates regarding the test effort required to complete work.
  • Raising bugs and liaising with the development team from discovery through to resolution
  • Setting up and configuring the testing environment and associated database(s)
  • Working with and communicating frequently with a DevOps team to ensure smooth product delivery from beginning to end.
  • Preparing the test execution report and sharing it with stakeholders.

Required technical skills and experience

  • Experience with C# / Java Script/ Type Script
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in Test Automation using various tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Appium, Mocha etc
  • Experience developing and executing automated test cases for User Interfaces
  • Knowledge of software development in a web environment
  •

  • Clear and concise communicator
  • Able to prioritise between several tasks at any one time
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detailed and effective written communication skills for documenting the features tested and bugs found
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, extremely responsive
  • Be comfortable discussing technical aspects of projects with other testers, developers & business owners.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience using Azure DevOps
  • Experience using Selenium and Playwright or equivalent tools
  • Usage of latest AI tools.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience testing User Interfaces and databases
  • You'll have ISTQB/ISEB Foundation certifications or equivalent certifications or be working towards achieving them.
  • Experience using virtual machines (Hyper V / Microsoft Azure)
  • Experience coordinating with external/Offshore QA resources

  • Has worked with UK clients and team (Preferred)
  • Has working experience of the onshore – offshore model
  • Has experience of commercial awareness in aspects such as revenue recognition and margin management
