About the role

Avery Dennison is seeking a Plant Manager for our Adhesives Manufacturing Facility in Mill Hall, Pennsylvania. In this role, the Plant Manager is responsible for the leadership of the site’s operational performance in environmental health & safety, financial results, quality, service, employee relations, and supply chain management. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Plant Manager will actively work to transition to stand-alone plant management duties while overseeing process safety management regulated chemical manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

This position is an on-site role based at our facility in Mill Hall, PA.

  • Provide visible leadership for all aspects of Environmental, Health, and Safety Performance, embedding a culture that "Zero is Achievable" and delivering on Corporate Sustainability Goals.
  • Lead, encourage, coach, and develop all members of the organization while attracting and retaining high-potential talent to maintain robust succession plans.
  • Collaborate with Divisional Leadership, Research & Development, and the Site Leadership Team to establish and execute long-term strategic goals for site sustainability.
  • Implement, monitor, and control critical performance metrics (EHS, People, Service, Quality, Cost, Growth) that deliver top and bottom-line business results.
  • Champion the principles of Lean Six Sigma (ELS) and Process Safety Management (PSM) standards to cultivate continuous improvement and implement annual and long-term financial plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Chemical field required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of successful multi-functional operations experience including leadership and employee development.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated leadership in a process safety management regulated chemical facility with a proven track record of driving results and continuous improvement.
  • Solid understanding of modern manufacturing, material flow, and improvement strategies (ELS), along with strong financial acumen and knowledge of manufacturing key drivers.
  • Skilled in leading significant project initiatives, long-term strategic change, scheduling, planning, and executing organizational strategy with excellent communication skills.
