About The Role

This is a dual role of supporting India labour related compliance and being a member of the talent acquisition team

Key Responsibilities

LABOUR GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE

  • Stay abreast of changes in labour laws, statutory regulations, labour codes, and compliance requirements applicable across jurisdictions, and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Labour Codes and related Rules, including monitoring legislative developments and supporting implementation initiatives.
  • Coordinate with external compliance partners and consultants to manage compliance calendars across legal entities and ensure timely statutory filings and submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with the POSH act, including timely filing of annual reports with the appropriate authorities.
  • Review, update, and maintain POSH policies and procedures in line with evolving legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act and applicable rules, including maintenance of statutory records and contractor compliance monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with the Apprentices Act, 1961 and applicable Apprenticeship Rules.
  • Manage end-to-end apprenticeship administration, including execution and registration of apprenticeship contracts, attendance tracking, stipend payments, training schedules, performance monitoring, and statutory reporting.
  • Maintain apprenticeship records, databases, and MIS reports for management review and regulatory compliance.
  • Review statutory documents and ensure maintenance of registers, records, returns, and notices as prescribed under labour laws, including CLRA, Shops & Establishments Acts, and other applicable legislations.
  • Coordinate with authorized signatories and stakeholders to obtain approvals and execute statutory documents before submission to government authorities.
  • Monitor renewals and expiry of registrations, licenses, and statutory approvals under Shops & Establishments Acts, CLRA, and other applicable labour legislations through the Shram Suvidha Portal and other regulatory platforms.
  • Monitor and manage contingent workforce compliance, ensuring adherence to applicable labour laws and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records, documentation, and audit-ready evidence for internal and external reviews.
  • Support labour compliance audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries by government authorities.
  • Prepare periodic compliance reports, dashboards, and management updates on statutory compliance status and risk areas.
  • Collaborate with HR, Legal, Payroll, Procurement, and business teams to ensure effective labour compliance management.
  • Undertake any other compliance-related responsibilities and projects as assigned by management.

RECRUITING

  • Facilitates recruiting process with hiring manager (sourcing, interviewing and selection)
  • Establishes and maintains open communication with supervisors and managers in determining recruiting needs
  • Sources candidates, consistently evaluates current and new sourcing opportunities
  • Ensures all pre-employment screening is completed
  • Maintains legally required files for job openings and candidate selection
  • Produces requested information for monthly reports as needed
  • Performs project work related to ongoing recruiting initiatives
  • Ensures metrics are achieved within Service Level Agreement
  • Any other activities as assigned
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Presentation of problems to appropriate people in an objective and non-judgmental manner
  • Ability to perform intermediate/advanced computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Ability to prioritize work and adaptability to changing work demands
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Ability to negotiate on issues

Qualifications (Minimum Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Proven knowledge of human resources, recruiting, or scheduling functions.

Experience (Minimum Required)

  • 4 to 7 years of experience working in HR compliances

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Needs to be flexible with working hours and work overtime as needed.
  • May travel on occasion.
