About The Role

Responsible for

Designing, developing, validating, and integrating components within the Thermal Coolant Management subsystem for automotive propulsion systems. The Design Engineer will ensure robust, cost-effective, manufacturable, and serviceable solutions through the application of advanced engineering methodologies, virtual validation tools, and design best practices while delivering high-quality mathematical releases on time.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of components within the Thermal Coolant Management subsystem.
  • Execute, maintain, and continuously improve design standards, engineering best practices, and global design processes.
  • Design automotive components using DFMEA methodologies.
  • Develop engineering solutions following Design to Cost principles while maintaining performance and quality standards.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability criteria to ensure efficient and scalable production processes.
  • Perform full NX design analysis for assigned subsystems and implement findings with support from senior designers or Design Lead Teams (DLTs).
  • Create, update, and maintain mathematical data (3D models), including material specifications, mass properties, and component attributes.
  • Develop mathematical models and virtual designs for complex automotive components and subsystems.
  • Integrate component designs into complete thermal management systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Design Release Engineers (DREs), manufacturing Engineers, Integration Engineers, and Performance Engineers to support design activities, component requirements, and virtual integration efforts.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality mathematical releases for components and subsystems.
  • Proactively communicate project status, timing concerns, risks, and technical challenges to the Design Manager, DLTs, and DREs.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and product developments related to thermal management systems.
  • Share lessons learned and recommend updates to engineering standards and design best practices.
  • Actively pursue professional development opportunities and expand technical expertise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Automotive Design Engineering, or any related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in automotive or mechanical component design.
  • Experience using: NX, Teamcenter, SimSolid
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling and product mathematical data management.
  • Understanding of DFMEA methodologies.
  • Advanced English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automotive thermal management or propulsion cooling systems.
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis
  • Experience with: Ansys Fluent, SolidWorks, CAD design packages
  • Familiarity with subsystem integration and vehicle development processes.
  • NX Certification.
  • Thermal subsystem-related certifications.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to prepare and present technical information
  • Cross-functional collaboration
