About The Role
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Paraplanner to join our Wealth Planning team at Cazenove Capital, part of the Schroders group. You will combine strong technical financial planning expertise with excellent client service, while supporting the development of more junior colleagues and contributing to high standards across the team.
About Cazenove Capital
At Cazenove Capital we look after private individuals, families and charities. We are the wealth management business of the FTSE-listed global investment manager Schroders. We help our clients around the world invest money to meet their goals, fulfil their ambitions and prepare for the future.
About Schroders, our parent company
Schroders is a global investment manager which provides active asset management, wealth management and investment solutions. We aim to provide excellent investment performance to clients through active management. We serve a diverse client base that includes pension schemes, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, high net worth individuals, family offices, as well as end clients through partnerships with distributors, financial advisers, and online platforms.
Established in 1804, we have around 5,500 people across 36 global locations. Schroders' success can be attributed to its diversified business model, spanning different asset classes, client types and geographies.
The base
We have been at 1 London Wall Place since 2018. We’re close to our clients, in the heart of the UK’s financial centre, and have everything we need to work flexibly.
The Team
The Wealth Planning team consists of Wealth Planners, Paraplanners and Client Support Executives (CSEs). Each Paraplanner works alongside two Wealth Planners and is supported by a CSE.
The Paraplanning team meets regularly to discuss change and share technical knowledge. You will be an integral part of the client experience, with opportunities to attend client meetings alongside your technical work. You will help ensure we consistently deliver a high level of service to our clients.
The role is varied and offers exposure to different areas of financial planning.
As a senior member of the team, you will act as a technical point of contact for junior colleagues and support the training and development of new or less experienced team members when required.
What you’ll do
- Work as part of a team, assisting Wealth Planners in managing clients’ planning needs and solutions.
- Act as an additional point of contact when Wealth Planners are unavailable and develop trusted relationships with clients.
- Attend client meetings with Wealth Planners when appropriate, broadening your understanding of the advisory process and strengthening client relationships.
- Take responsibility for the timely drafting of client reason-why letters.
- Assist Wealth Planners in assessing and researching options and solutions for clients.
- Complete administrative duties promptly, including letters, new-client take-on forms, advisory correspondence, annual reviews and proposal preparation.
- Respond to client-related enquiries promptly and maintain clear records of responses.
- Liaise with insurance companies to obtain policy information, illustrations and product information.
- Check that new business and client files are compliant and aligned with Cazenove Capital procedures.
- Work closely with the Wealth Planning support team and delegate administrative work where appropriate.
- Maintain and develop your knowledge through continual professional development (CPD) and relevant examinations.
- Demonstrate a high level of technical competence across all areas of financial planning.
- Proactively support junior colleagues and provide training when required.
- Contribute to and present at pod, Paraplanning and wider team meetings.
- Champion Wealth Planning and assist with client and technical queries from colleagues across the business.
- Contribute to projects and committees that maintain and improve Wealth Planning standards and processes.
- Embody Schroders’ core values of Excellence, Innovation, Teamwork, Passion and Integrity in all aspects of your work.
Career focus: The Senior Paraplanner role recognises a high level of technical competence and experience. It is intended for individuals who are focused on developing a long-term career in Paraplanning, rather than serving as an additional stage on the path to Associate Wealth Planner.
