About The Role

Job Expectations

Build your career and Australia’s future.

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Risk Management Lead reporting to Senior Manager Risk Management.

A bit about your role

Join us as a Risk Management Lead and help shape the safe and responsible adoption of AI and emerging technologies across nbn. In this influential role, you will lead strategic risk assessments for AI, technology and business initiatives, partnering with stakeholders across business, technology, security and privacy to deliver practical, risk-informed outcomes. You will provide trusted advice, guidance and education to support effective decision-making, help embed governance and controls throughout the AI and technology lifecycle, and contribute to assurance, remediation and reporting activities that strengthen risk maturity across the organisation. Beyond your individual portfolio, you will play a key role in supporting team delivery by contributing to priority initiatives, responding to emerging business needs, and helping the broader risk management function meet increasing demand. This is an exciting opportunity to develop deep expertise in Responsible AI and emerging technology risk while making a meaningful impact on how nbn manages risk, enables innovation, and delivers value for our organisation.

A bit about you

The ideal candidate brings a relevant tertiary qualification in areas such as Information Technology, Law, Engineering, AI Ethics, or a related discipline, with an interest in Responsible AI, AI governance and ethical technology practices. They have experience working in technology, operational or enterprise support environments and are comfortable partnering with diverse stakeholders across business and technical teams. Strong communication, collaboration, project coordination and problem-solving skills are important, along with the ability to navigate evolving requirements, provide practical guidance, and contribute effectively in cross-functional environments.

Application Process

You may find that your experience does not match every requirement listed but, if this role has piqued your interest or resonates with where you are in your career, we encourage you to apply rather than self-select out. We are interested in transferable skills and your skills and perspective could be exactly what we would value to strengthen our team.
