About The Role

As our Accounts Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting the Finance Team and ensuring the efficient management of accounts receivable, credit control, and financial administration. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Business Support and Assistant Manager of Finance, you will assist with the collection of guest and city ledger accounts, maintain accurate financial records, and support daily finance operations.

Working closely with departments across the hotel, you will help ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and relevant legislation while delivering timely, accurate financial support. Your attention to detail, strong communication skills, and commitment to service excellence will contribute to both operational success and an exceptional guest experience.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure compliance with the hotel's credit policy and accounts receivable procedures.
  • Manage and maintain guest and city ledger accounts, including posting, editing, and updating transactions.
  • Assist with the daily balancing and transfer of accounts to the city ledger.
  • Monitor outstanding accounts and support timely collection and follow-up activities.
  • Respond to and resolve finance-related queries from colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Prepare, collate, and maintain supplier and financial documentation for processing.
  • Support the Assistant Manager of Finance & Business Support with daily finance workflow.
  • Coordinate with operational departments, including Front Office and Food & Beverage, to ensure accurate financial reporting and expense tracking.
  • Prepare financial data, reports, and documentation as required by the finance team.
  • Maintain accurate records to support internal and external audits and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ensure all accounting practices are performed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate account information and client requirements effectively across departments to support service excellence.
  • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and exceptional service standards throughout the hotel.
  • Strictly adhere to IGH policy concerning the Trade Practices Act, Gifts and Entertainment, Bribery and Data Privacy.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) by following established policies and procedures.
  • Identify, report, and assist in managing workplace hazards, incidents, and risks to support a safe working environment.

  • Good knowledge of Front Office and Accounts processes
  • Strong computer skills, particularly excel and email usage
