  • In this Commercialisation Associate role, you will unlock impact from HASS and health research discoveries.
  • You will assess IP disclosures, guide protection strategies and connect researchers with partners to realise real-world outcomes.

What you will deliver

  • Support HASS and MDHS researchers through the University’s IP disclosure process in collaboration with Business Development colleagues.
  • Identify and analyse commercial and impact opportunities, conducting market assessments and mapping development pathways and funding requirements.
  • Undertake commercial, legal and IP due diligence to clarify ownership, rights, third-party obligations and potential risks.
  • Support protection, management and consolidation of diverse IP types to enable sustainable commercial, implementation and impact pathways.
  • Promote University research capabilities to external audiences and assist with term sheets, licence agreements, reporting and process improvement.

You may be a great fit if you

  • Hold relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent training in research translation, commercialisation, IP licensing or entrepreneurship.
  • Bring experience in commercialisation, research translation, business development, partnerships, licensing or venture and social enterprise ecosystems.
  • Demonstrate background or strong interest in HASS, community impact, social innovation or social ventures and partnerships.
  • Understand protection, development and commercialisation of early-stage IP, including different IP types and patent fundamentals.
  • Conduct technical, IP, commercial and legal due diligence, analysing complex data to build robust business cases.
  • Build positive relationships with researchers and partners while providing consistent, high-quality, service-focused commercialisation support.
