About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Fitter to join our team in O'Connor, WA. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of production equipment to keep our manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently. As part of Australia's leading PVC pipe manufacturer, you'll play an important role in supporting reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across the site.

What will you do?

  • Conduct breakdown and immediate maintenance activities across the site and facilities.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment faults to minimise downtime and maintain operational performance.
  • Install, service, repair, and overhaul manufacturing machinery, conveyors, pumps, and associated plant equipment.
  • Identify maintenance issues and opportunities for improvement to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Follow all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements, contributing to a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and support planned shutdowns, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.

About you

  • Trade certification in mechanical fitting or related trade, or final year apprentice
  • Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Licenses: forklift, EWP, confined spaces
  • An understanding of hydraulic & pneumatics, water process plant and associated equipment
  • Welding competence (Mig/Tig/Arc)
  • Experience in CMMS
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing maintenance activities in a dynamic environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • A strong focus on safety and compliance, with a commitment to maintaining best-practice standards.
