How you’ll make an impact
As Manager - Platform Finance, you'll lead a team responsible for delivering accurate, timely and well-controlled finance outcomes across AMP's platform business. You'll create value through strong people leadership, operational excellence and a relentless focus on controls, risk management and customer outcomes.
Leading a team of 4-5 finance professionals, you'll build capability, strengthen accountability and foster a culture of continuous improvement. You'll ensure critical finance operations are delivered effectively while partnering across Technology, Product, Risk and Operations to resolve issues, improve processes and support strategic change initiatives.
In this role, you will
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team through clear goals, regular feedback and development planning.
- Oversee day-to-day Platform Finance activities including reconciliations, accounting controls, payments, fee validation, distributions, cash flow reporting and period-end activities.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial records, reporting and operational processes.
- Strengthen and continuously improve the control environment for high-risk and high-value transactions.
- Monitor operational performance using data, reporting and metrics to identify trends, manage risk and improve service delivery.
- Partner with Technology and business stakeholders to address system and process issues, embed sustainable improvements and support change initiatives.
- Represent Platform Finance in projects and transformation activities, ensuring operational readiness, effective controls and successful implementation outcomes.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and support the timely resolution of adviser, customer and business queries.
- Balance customer outcomes, risk management, operational efficiency and employee wellbeing when leading team delivery.
- What you will bring to the team
- To be successful in this role, you'll combine strong people leadership with deep operational finance expertise and a passion for continuous improvement.
Ideally, you'll bring
- Proven experience leading, coaching and developing teams within financial services, finance operations or customer-focused operational environments.
- Demonstrated success building inclusive, collaborative and high-performing teams.
- Strong experience in platform finance, accounting operations, reconciliations, payments, controls or a related financial services discipline.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls and operational risk management practices.
- Experience managing high-volume, time-critical operational processes within regulated environments.
- A track record of partnering effectively with Technology, Product, Risk, Compliance, Audit and project teams.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use financial and operational data to drive improvements and support decision-making.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
- CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification will be highly regarded
