We are now looking for a DevOps Engineer in Cluj-Napoca, Romania !
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and operating the cloud platform capabilities that enable secure, reliable, and scalable software delivery. The role supports cloud-native platforms across Microsoft Azure, with emphasis on Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, GitOps, observability, platform reliability, and developer enablement.
The position works closely with Software Engineering, Architecture, Cybersecurity, and Operations teams to establish standardized delivery and operational practices, improve platform resilience, and enable product teams to deploy and troubleshoot services with greater independence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- DevOps engineering and ownership: Design, build, maintain, and continuously improve Kubernetes-based platforms, including Azure Kubernetes Service. Define reusable platform services, deployment blueprints, and engineering standards that support multiple products and teams.
- Infrastructure as code: Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform. Convert manual or partially automated infrastructure activities into version-controlled, reproducible, and auditable deployments. Support environment recovery and reduce configuration drift.
- Continuous integration, continuous delivery, and GitOps: Design, maintain, and improve GitLab continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines. Implement GitOps deployment practices including configuration promotion, deployment validation, synchronization, rollback, and release governance.
- Observability and reliability: Implement and operate monitoring, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerting using technologies such as Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, Loki, Microsoft Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and OpenTelemetry. Establish actionable service and platform health indicators.
- Cloud operations and migration: Support cloud migrations and platform modernization across Microsoft Azure. Manage and troubleshoot cloud networking, Domain Name System configuration, certificates, managed identities, role assignments, and platform dependencies.
- Security and compliance: Implement secure secrets and certificate lifecycle management using Microsoft Azure Key Vault and related services. Apply least-privilege access, role-based access control, identity governance, and secure configuration practices in partnership with Cybersecurity teams.
- Release engineering and operational readiness: Improve deployment playbooks, release documentation, rollback strategies, environment readiness checks, and post-deployment validation. Automate repeatable operational activities, including infrastructure checks and release evidence where practical.
- Incident response and problem management: Participate in production incident response, platform troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. Diagnose issues across infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, deployment configuration, and application runtime boundaries, and drive preventive actions.
- Developer enablement: Provide product teams with self-service platform capabilities, documentation, access, and technical guidance. Coach engineers on cloud, Kubernetes, deployment, observability, and operational best practices.
- Collaboration and continuous improvement: Work across product and platform teams to clarify ownership and support boundaries. Identify reliability, security, performance, cost, and delivery improvements and convert them into prioritized, measurable engineering work.
