- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Warehouse Management (personally or through subordinate personnel)
- ensure a safe working environment for employees
- Track direct labor expenses
- Create KPI’s for departments and work with subordinates to promote a culture of continuous improvement
- Manage receiving functions to ensure timely product receipts and replenishment
- Manage processing product returns from customers
- Write and maintain procedures, work instructions and forms related to receiving and reverse logistics
- Manage inventories, receipts, transfers and cycle counts ensuring physical & virtual match
- Tracks product scrap and manages disposal & recycle
- Investigate customer complaints related to areas of responsibility
- Implement programs to minimize receiving, transferring and replenishment errors.
- Maintain locations and planogram of product in warehouse
- Coordinate equipment maintenance schedule with facilities team or vendor
- Participate in corporate procurement on pricing on products and services
- Oversee housekeeping requirements for the warehouse
- Coordinate release of products from quarantine with QA
- Oversee quality assurance function for buy-sell items and those produced under contract manufacturing arrangement
- Create and maintain online system for dock appointments and deliveries
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit, hire, train, coach and retain staffing.
- Expect. Inspect and take remedial action when needed.
- Conduct performance appraisals, address complaints and resolve problems.
- Carry on responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable state and local laws.
- Participate in divisional safety committee.
ADMINISTRATIVE/REPORTING
- Participate in department, staff and monthly management meetings.
- Business planning and annual budgeting.
- Misc. reports & projects as directed by management
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management or related
field and/or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- Direct shipping, distribution, receiving, delivery warehousing logistical experience or combination of applicable education and experience. Knowledge of commercial shipping systems, SAP, WMIS and 1D / 2D barcoding systems as well as shipment of hazardous goods. Experience and training in domestic and international shipping. Experience with all modalities of distribution including small package air and
ground, freight air and ground, and ocean container shipping.
- Five years plus related professional experience and a clear understanding of distribution management
- Ability to interface successfully with management and subordinates
- Strong capability to work independently and as a team member
