Regional Chinese Business Development Manager (Regional CBDM)

About The Role
The Regional CBDM leads Expeditors’ Chinese Business Development function across multiple countries or the assigned sub-region for China and Taiwan customers. This is a player-coach role: the incumbent personally owns strategic, cross-border accounts while being accountable for the collective BD performance of all District/Country CBDMs within the region — setting targets, operating cadence, and building bench strength for the function’s continued growth.
● University or equivalent business qualifications.
● Proven work experience in business development.
● Knowledge of Expeditors' product and services.
● Knowledge of required Expeditors operating systems.
● Proficient in MS Office and CRM software.
● Strong analytical skills.
● Ability to perform and meet KPI requirements.
● Proven problem solving and interpersonal skills.
● Charismatic with an ability to connect.
● Oral and written proficiency in the English language; Chinese speaking is required.
● Ability to travel internationally (valid passport).
● Minimum 6-8 years Expeditors or industry experience, including experience leading or mentoring a team.
● Track record of owning and delivering BD results across multiple countries or a sub-region
Based at any US Southern Border and Mexico  location.
Leadership Responsibilities
- ● Directly lead and manage District/Country CBDM staff across the assigned GEO coverage — hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
- ● Own and drive the overall CBDM program design, standards, and cadence for the region/sub-region.
- ● Set regional BD targets and cascade them into district/country-level goals; hold District/Country CBDMs accountable for results.
- ● Support and partner with the broader regional BD team on cross-border pipeline, key account strategy, and escalations.
- ● Represent the CBDM function in regional leadership forums and business reviews.
- ● Build a bench of talent and a repeatable playbook that can be replicated across districts/countries.

Other Responsibilities
- ● Act as the primary point of contact for customer account management within assigned coverage.
- ● Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
- ● Develop trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders and executive sponsors.
- ● Ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions aligned with customer needs.
- ● Communicate progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to stakeholders.
- ● Identify new business opportunities and areas for improvement.
- ● Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g., sales results, forecasts).
- ● Prepare detailed reports on account and pipeline status.
- ● Collaborate with the Product team to grow opportunities within the territory.
- ● Handle client escalations and complex requests as needed.
- ● Uphold ethical business practices and a commitment to customer success.
- ● Collaborate with internal teams to mitigate risks and ensure service excellence.
- ● Monitor shipments and provide visibility tools and reporting.
- ● Lead corrective action plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
- ● Assist in onboarding new business segments and expanding existing accounts.
- ● Own the overall GEO coverage BD result across all countries/sub-regions within scope, consolidating and reporting on District/Country CBDM performance.

● Deliver measurable revenue contribution, establish a stable 5x pipeline, convert priority opportunities into won business, strengthen strategic relationships with key Chinese accounts, and build a repeatable CBDM business development model that supports sustainable growth across priority corridors.
● Successful leadership and development of the CBDM team, evidenced by district/country-level goal attainment across the region/sub-region.
