SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The General Assembler is responsible for picking, kitting, and pre‑assembling components used in BAND‑IT tool production. This role ensures accurate part selection, proper documentation, and high‑quality pre‑assembly work in accordance with engineering drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), and Standard Work Instructions. The General Assembler supports production flow by preparing complete, accurate kits and performing basic sub‑assembly tasks that feed into final tool assembly operations. This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and consistent adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.

REPORTING TO : Production Supervisor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adheres to all company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Pick and kit components accurately using RFSmart or other inventory systems.
  • Read and understand work orders, Lot Control documentation, and Bills of Material.
  • Perform pre‑assembly of mechanical components following Standard Work and Work Instructions.
  • Use basic inspection tools to verify part quality and kit completeness.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper scanning, issuing, and material movement transactions.
  • Support production by preparing kits that meet schedule and quality requirements.
  • Communicate shortages, quality concerns, or discrepancies through the escalation chain or RCCM process.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow 5S principles.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and provide feedback on process enhancements.
  • Actively model IDEX values: Team, Trust, and Excellence.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including the ability to understand how parts and systems fit and function together.
  • Demonstrated ability in assembling mechanical components with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to identify defects, misalignments, or irregularities in assembled products and troubleshooting skills to correct assembly issues.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and perform repetitive tasks with consistency.
  • Ability to read and interpret job specifications, drawings, BOMs, and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to use scanners, inventory systems, and basic computer functions.
  • Ability to work independently and meet productivity expectations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude required, including ability to use hand tools and understand basic mechanical processes, required.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, warehouse picking, or kitting, preferred.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $41,300.00 - $61,900.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
