About The Role

The Canteen Operator is responsible for ensuring that tasks allocated to them by the Canteen Supervisor are performed effectively and efficiently, thereby contributing to the quality service provided by the canteen.

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

Ensuring consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
Follow verbal and written work instructions.
Ensure proper understanding of the required actions.
Apply recognised work and safety standards.
Ensure that food preparation and canteen areas are clean and hygienic.
Operation of all canteen equipment required.
Monitor that canteen equipment is in good running order.
Complete tasks to required standard.
Co-ordinate activities with team members.
Report abnormal activities or problems to Canteen Supervisor.
Support the measurement of task performance through simple data collection.
Support the Canteen Supervisor in identifying material and ingredient requirements.
Participate in required meetings.
Accurately complete role administration requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve the Canteen area and services.
Effective two-way communication with team members.
Ensure that all required tools and material are available to complete tasks.
Actively engage as a team member in all team processes.
Adherence to Valterra Platinum's internal and external compliance (legislative, regulatory, permitting) requirements.
Matric

Experience

1- 3 years relevant experience in canteen operations and cleaning.
