Job Overview

Job Summary:**

The Mechanic Pipeline will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy equipment and machinery used in pipeline construction and operations, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

Job Responsibilities:**

Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, pipelayers, welding machines, and vehicles, according to established schedules and procedures.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in equipment and machinery, utilizing diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
Execute repairs, overhauls, and replacements of components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and undercarriages.
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety standards and operational requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment malfunctions in the field or in the shop.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and labor hours.
Order and maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies necessary for equipment upkeep.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaborate with operators and other team members to understand equipment issues and communicate repair progress.
May be required to travel to various job sites to perform on-site repairs and maintenance.

Job Qualifications:**

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical program in heavy equipment repair is highly preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, preferably within the pipeline or construction industry.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems (12V/24V), and power trains.
Experience with various heavy equipment brands and models commonly used in pipeline construction.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various weather conditions and challenging environments.
Must possess a valid driver's license; CDL may be required depending on equipment being operated.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
