About The Role
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant / Specialist Maternal and Fetal Medicine to join our Obstetrics and Gynecology team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care for women with high-risk pregnancies, perform advanced fetal assessments, and manage complex maternal and fetal conditions while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation and management for high-risk pregnancies and complex obstetric conditions.
- Perform and interpret advanced obstetric and fetal ultrasound examinations, including fetal anomaly scans, growth assessments, and Doppler studies.
- Diagnose and manage maternal medical disorders complicating pregnancy.
- Perform prenatal diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (where credentialed).
- Develop individualized care plans for patients with maternal and fetal complications.
- Counsel patients and families regarding prenatal diagnoses, fetal abnormalities, pregnancy risks, and available treatment options.
- Collaborate closely with obstetricians, neonatologists, geneticists, anesthesiologists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in labor and delivery management for high-risk obstetric cases as required.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, research, teaching, and continuing medical education activities.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or equivalent recognized qualification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Fellowship or subspecialty qualification in Maternal and Fetal Medicine.
- Valid medical license or eligibility for licensure in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Demonstrated experience in managing high-risk pregnancies and performing advanced fetal imaging and prenatal diagnostic procedures.
- Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
