We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join the Hawkes Bay Area Committee to help drive local initiatives and create a lasting impact. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your skills and ideas to strengthen the committee, supporting community health, wellbeing, and volunteer engagement.
As an Area Committee Member, you will
- Support local community health and wellbeing initiatives
- Work with other community leaders and organisations to connect, collaborate, and find solutions
- Help promote and support Hato Hone St John volunteers in the region
- Take on a key portfolio role within the committee
- Represent your community’s needs and help shape local health equity initiatives
No prior experience is required - just a passion for your community and a willingness to contribute. You'll receive great support and guidance from our Community Engagement team to ensure you have everything you need to succeed in this rewarding role.

We’re looking for people who
- Are passionate about the health and wellbeing of local communities and interested in how Hato Hone St John can make a difference.
- Understand, or are open to learning about, Equity for Māori, with a commitment to growing personal cultural competence.
- Have strong local connections and excellent communication and networking skills to expand community reach and engagement.
- Think creatively, collaborate effectively, and build partnerships both within and outside the organisation.
- Have strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
Area Committee Members must be 18+ years and reside within the Hawkes Bay area or have a strong connection to the area.
