About The Role

This entry-level position offers the opportunity to gain professional driving experience while providing safe, reliable, and courteous transportation for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Rate of Pay: $17.00-$19.00/hour

Work 12 -20 hours per week, including 1 weekend day.
Safely operate transit buses along assigned routes and schedules.
Provide excellent customer service and assist passengers as needed, including those with disabilities.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Maintain accurate ridership and operational records.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and fellow drivers via radio or mobile data system.
Follow all departmental policies, traffic laws, and safety regulations.
One year of experience driving buses, or passenger vans; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
Possession of a current Florida Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) class B driver's license with passenger endorsement and no air brake restriction is required upon employment.
Pass pre-employment background tests to include Florida Department of Transportation Physical.
