About The Role
Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states.
To be part of this project, we are looking for S3C/IOPS Senior Engineer . The responsibilities of the position are as follows:
Responsibilities
- Lead the concept, design, development and technical procurement of Satellite Control Centres and Operations Centres, including their adaptation for governmental and commercial applications.
- Conduct and follow up conceptual design activities in satellite control and operations centre systems engineering, including requirements, interfaces, and user and management data flows within the Ground Segment, as well as TM/TC interfaces.
- Establish requirements for satellite control centre hardware and software items and their interfaces with other Ground Segment entities, including Ground Stations, Mission Control Centres, networks, IT infrastructure and data centres.
- Perform system trade-offs in satellite control centre systems engineering and support the overall architecture definition.
- Perform requirements engineering in DOORS or JAMA for the Satellite and Operations Control Centres and their lower-level subsystems.
- Within procurement activities, follow the development and acceptance phases from Request for Proposal through final acceptance of the Satellite Control and Operations Centres.
- After acceptance, follow the integration of the Satellite Control and Operations Centres into the Ground Segment until delivery to the end-to-end IVV team.
- Develop the verification and validation concept at satellite control centre level and support the relevant tests at higher levels.
- During the operational phase, act as the technical point of contact for anomalies and support their technical resolution.
- Develop the operations concept and prepare operational requirements and operational products, including flight and ground operations procedures for the Satellite Control and Operations Centres.
Minimum requirements
- Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
- More than 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Satellite and Constellation Control and Operations Centre systems engineering.
- Knowledge of satellite control centre technical interfaces, user and management data flows, and secure and non-secure TM/TC engineering.
- Strong experience with software-based systems, networks and IT infrastructure.
- Experience in the design, development, integration, verification and operation of satellite control centres and their associated processes and operational procedures.
- Experience with TM/TC routing algorithms for satellite constellations, including inter-satellite links.
- Knowledge of satellite communications.
- Experience in managing technology projects.
- Nationality of an EU Member State and willingness to undergo an EU Secret clearance process.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; any other European language is considered an asset.
