Cook- BurgerJoint

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our kitchen team. The Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to a positive kitchen environment. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and presentation standards
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and effectively
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and report supply needs
• Plate and present dishes to meet quality and aesthetic standards
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain a clean and organized work station
• Follow portion control guidelines and minimize food waste
• Respond to special dietary requests and modifications
• Assist with menu development and food preparation planning as needed

 

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of professional cooking experience in a restaurant, catering, or institutional kitchen setting
• Proficiency in food preparation techniques and knife skills
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred)
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality presentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
