Job Summary
The Senior Commercial Loan Operations Capital Markets Specialist serves as the primary subject matter expert for syndicated loans, loan participations, and capital markets transactions within the Commercial Loan Operations team. This role is responsible for the end-to-end administration of capital markets deals, including loan boarding, reconciliation against agent banks, lender share management, participant payment processing, and agency notice administration. The Specialist acts as the primary point of contact for agent banks, participants, and internal stakeholders, ensuring all transactions are accurately executed, recorded, and maintained within the loan servicing system. This position requires deep expertise in commercial loan systems (AFS/AFSVision, ACBS, DNA, Loan IQ, or similar platforms) and a comprehensive understanding of syndicated loan structures, credit agreements, and capital markets operations. The ideal candidate combines strong technical system proficiency with exceptional analytical and communication skills to manage complex, high-value transactions with accuracy, timeliness, and full regulatory compliance.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary SME and external point of contact (POC) for all syndicated loan, participation, and capital markets transactions; coordinate directly with agent banks, co-lenders, and participants to manage deal-level communications, funding requests, payoff coordination, and transaction inquiries.
- Board or oversee the boarding of syndicated and participated loans into the loan servicing system (AFS/AFSVision, ACBS, Loan IQ, or equivalent); ensure accurate system setup in accordance with executed credit agreements, participation certificates, and related loan documentation.
- Reconcile loan positions (including cash and position reconciliations), lender share allocations, interest accruals, fee calculations, and payment distributions against agent bank records; research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner in collaboration with credit, treasury, accounting, and legal teams.
- Process participant payments, including scheduled and unscheduled principal, interest, fees, and other distributions; ensure accurate and timely settlement in accordance with credit agreement terms and internal controls.
- Administer agency notices, including rate-setting notices, borrowing base certificates, compliance certificates, and amendment-related communications; ensure proper distribution to all required parties and maintain complete and audit-ready records.
- Support loan amendments, lender assignments/ownership transfers , and other structural changes by reviewing documentation, coordinating system updates, and ensuring all parties are properly notified and recorded.
- Maintain syndication records, controls, and audit-ready documentation; support internal and external audits, quality reviews, and regulatory examinations as they relate to capital markets and syndicated loan portfolios.
- Monitor workflows, identify process improvement opportunities and support developmental initiatives, SLA adherence, and exception reporting for capital markets transactions; collaborate with associates and managers to ensure operational continuity and support departmental initiatives and special projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications
- Education level required: High School Diploma, GED of Foreign Equivalent
- Minimum experience required: 6+ Years progressively responsible experience in Commercial Loan Operations, Syndicated Loan Operations, Capital Markets Operations, or a related banking function.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education level preferred: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) (Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field)
- Loan Syndications and Trading Association (LSTA) familiarity or related capital markets certifications.
- Experience supporting loan amendments, lender assignments, and ownership transfers in a high-volume environment.
- Familiarity with Clearpar or other electronic settlement platforms used in the syndicated loan market.
- Experience serving as primary operational contact with agent banks and lending participants.
Job Competencies
- Deep expertise in syndicated loan and participation administration, including lender share allocations, agent/participant relationships, fee waterfalls, and credit agreement interpretation.
- Advanced proficiency in commercial loan systems such as AFS/AFSVision, ACBS, Loan IQ, or similar platforms; ability to board, maintain, and reconcile complex loan structures within these systems.
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Loan Servicing, including CRE, C&I, construction, and SBA loan products, with particular depth in capital markets and syndicated structures.
- Ability to review and interpret complex loan documentation (credit agreements, participation certificates, assignment and assumption agreements) and translate terms into accurate system entries and operational actions.
- Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills, with the ability to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies across loan positions, payment records, and agent bank statements.
- Strong interpersonal and external communication skills, with demonstrated ability to manage professional relationships with agent banks, participants, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to build and maintain reconciliation schedules, allocation models, and operational tracking tools.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority transactions simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
- Team-first mindset with the ability to serve as a knowledge resource and mentor to junior associates on capital markets processes, systems, and procedures.
- Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.

Pay Range
$58,214.25 - $105,040.00
