Pediatric Child Life Specialist (Full Time)
Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Pediatric Palliative Care and Children's Programs, the Pediatric Child Life Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing child life services as part of the care plan for Pediatric Hospice and Pediatric Palliative Care patients, siblings, and families. Using child life practices and developmental theories, this role provides assessment, counseling, education, and therapeutic interventions that promote coping, understanding, and emotional well-being. The specialist also participates in community outreach, collaborates with interdisciplinary pediatric teams, and assists with special events and projects that support pediatric patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related clinical field required.
- Certification as a Child Life Specialist (CCLS) required.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with children; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the essential functions of the role.
- Experience utilizing expressive and therapeutic techniques with children and adolescents.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with demonstrated success in program development and promotion.
- Experience facilitating support groups, workshops, and educational programs for children and families.
- Knowledge of psychosocial assessment and family-centered care practices.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Flexible, self-directed, and adaptable in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable, insured transportation in accordance with organizational requirements.
- Ability to build effective relationships and communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds, personalities, and communication styles.

The Pay Range listed is the anticipated hiring range of this position. Precise pay rates are determined through consideration of one or more of the following: education, training, relevant experience and work location. There are some cases in which the pay rate could exceed the range listed on this job post. Care Dimensions also offers a comprehensive benefits package – including employer-sponsored health insurance, paid time-off, tuition reimbursement, student loan paydown, supplemental insurance options and more – which adds to the company’s generous total rewards package.
Pay Range
$28 — $33 USD
