About The Role

Maintenance Manager – Casual

St Vincent’s Health Australia is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Manager to join the team at Corinda. Guided by our core values of compassion, justice, integrity, and excellence, this role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and high-quality environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

About the Role

Working under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure our facility, grounds, plant, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards. You will deliver prompt general maintenance, coordinate contractors, support continuous improvement programs, and assist in creating a safe, risk-managed environment.

This is a casual role , ideally one shift per week with an opportunity to explore full-time.

What works for us

  • Perform general repairs, fabrication, and routine maintenance tasks with limited supervision.
  • Supervise external contractors across various disciplines (e.g., painting, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration) for installation, service, and repair work.
  • Coordinate equipment testing, including resident-related equipment in line with Australian Standards.
  • Execute and log preventative maintenance programs to support quality standards.
  • Apply contemporary infection control, manual handling, and WHS hazard identification practices.
  • Participate in an on-call roster (including every second weekend and covering supervisor leave).

What you’ll need

Essential

  • Proven ability to manage competing demands with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to WHS, infection control standards, and risk management.
  • Alignment with the Mission and Values of St Vincent’s Health Australia.

Desirable

  • Relevant trade qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role within the Residential Aged Care sector.
  • Knowledge and experience in safe chemical handling.
