About The Role

Candescent is a forward-thinking technology company transforming how financial institutions deliver Intelligent Banking experiences. We unite digital banking, account opening, and branch solutions that power and connect digital banking, account opening, and branch solutions—creating seamless engagement across digital, remote, and in-person channels.

Our Experience-Led, Intelligence-Driven approach combines human-centered design with data, automation, and cloud-based innovation. Built on an API-first architecture, our extensible ecosystem enables institutions to adapt quickly, integrate easily, and unlock new opportunities for growth—turning every customer interaction into a moment of clarity, confidence, and connection.

About the Role

We are looking for an Instructional Designer/L&D Specialist to join Candescent's L&D team in Bangalore and take ownership of designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating learning programs for employees across our global locations. This is a broad role that goes beyond content build: you will partner with business leaders and subject-matter experts to identify skill gaps, translate business needs into scalable learning solutions, and manage programs end-to-end — from needs analysis and design through facilitation, LMS delivery, and post-program measurement.

The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on. You are as comfortable shaping a learning strategy with senior stakeholders as you are building a course in Articulate and publishing it to Cornerstone. You bring a strong instructional design foundation, a bias toward innovation, and the ability to use data and technology — including Gen AI — to create engaging, future-ready learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Learning Strategy & Needs Analysis

  • Partner with business leaders, SMEs, and HR Business Partners / Learning Partners to assess skill gaps and align learning solutions with business priorities.
  • Conduct training needs analyses and translate requirements into clear learning objectives, program outcomes, and appropriate modalities.
  • Contribute to the global learning charter, including the tool and technology perspective — LMS governance, content standards, and platform best practices.

Instructional Design & Content Development

  • Design and develop e-learning modules, ILT/VILT materials, microlearning, and job aids using structured instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM).
  • Build courses using Articulate 360 (Storyline/Rise) or similar tools, applying strong storyboarding, scripting, and visual design with attention to learner UX.
  • Curate and develop content using modern approaches — blended learning, experiential activities, coaching, and digital learning — that scale across skills, functions, and regions.

Program Design, Management & Delivery

  • Design scalable program frameworks that can be applied across multiple skills, functions, and geographies.
  • Own end-to-end program management: planning, scheduling, facilitator preparation, participant communications, vendor coordination, logistics, and delivery.
  • Manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously, maintaining quality standards and reporting regularly on progress and risks.

LMS Governance & Content Operations

  • Administer content on Cornerstone OnDemand: upload courses, configure curricula and learning assignments, and troubleshoot learner access issues.
  • Publish and manage SCORM/xAPI content, and maintain Cornerstone-related processes — content lifecycle management, naming conventions, and learner journey architecture.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and HR teams on learning and skills development.
  • Partner with SMEs across geographies to gather content, validate accuracy, and incorporate feedback, managing these relationships independently.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships to secure buy-in and alignment, and collaborate across L&D to ensure consistency, scalability, and sharing of best practices.

Measurement, Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Build evaluation into program design (feedback surveys, NPS, business-impact measures) and use Cornerstone reporting and analytics to evaluate content effectiveness.
  • Conduct impact analyses linking learning outcomes to business results, and synthesize findings into insights for senior leadership.
  • Gather learner and stakeholder feedback to continuously refine and improve programs.
  • Explore and pilot new learning technologies and methods — including Gen AI, adaptive learning, and digital simulations — and scale those that prove effective.
  • Stay ahead of L&D trends to introduce creative, future-ready solutions and champion experimentation within the team.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 4–6 years of hands-on experience in instructional design, e-learning development, or talent development / L&D.
  • Demonstrated success designing and delivering scalable learning programs with measurable outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience with Cornerstone OnDemand, including content uploads, curriculum configuration, learning assignments, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Articulate 360 (Storyline and/or Rise) or Adobe Captivate, and experience publishing SCORM/xAPI content to an LMS.
  • Strong storyboarding, scripting, and visual design sensibility with attention to learner UX.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and communication skills, with proven ability to manage program logistics and stakeholder relationships across global teams.
  • Comfort with data-driven decision-making and program evaluation (feedback, NPS, impact reporting).
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, HR, Psychology, Education, or a related field.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree or certifications in L&D, Coaching, or Project Management.
  • Experience with Gen AI and/or digital learning platforms in a learning context.
  • Experience delivering learning programs in global organizations.
  • Exposure to video editing tools (Camtasia, Adobe Premiere) or graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite).
  • Familiarity with learning measurement frameworks (e.g., Kirkpatrick Model).
  • Portfolio of e-learning samples, storyboards, or facilitator guides.
