Purpose
The purpose of the Dietitian Student Assistant position is to provide nutrition education and outreach to UHD residents, promote awareness of available nutrition resources, and aid the UHD Registered Dietitians in their daily operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Dietitian Student Assistant will assist the Registered Dietitians in numerous tasks related to food service, education, counseling, research, and marketing.
Performance expectations include, but are not limited to
- Administrative duties
- Menu and recipe management
- Educational tabling
- Food samplings
- Quality assurance audits of the dining operations
- Staff training, and special event planning, along with researching educational information for dining specials, infographics, displays, and table tents.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Tasks involve climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. You will be trained in and expected to use safe lifting and transport techniques.
ORAL OR WRITTEN REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate or graduate Nutrition major, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and have completed at least 12 credits of nutrition-related courses at the time of application. Relevant experience may be substituted if not a Nutrition major.
