Who we, the design system team, are
Hi, I’m Johan, the Design System Lead. Together with my team of skilled and passionate designers and engineers, we build and maintain Electrolux Group’s design system SHAPE. We help hundreds of engineers and designers at the company build more cohesive, on-brand products faster, with accessibility at heart. We’re looking forward to welcoming someone who wants to help shape this work with us.
Our design system is multibrand, so we can support all different brands of the Electrolux Group. We do also support dark and light mode, which is important not only because dark mode is popular, but also accessible. On the tech side we currently support Web (React), Mobile (SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose) and Appliances (Flutter, LVGL). Supporting Appliances means that our buttons are displayed on ovens and washing machines too, that’s pretty cool.
In our team we like to work together, across responsibilities and disciplines. Designers and engineers collaborate across Mobile, Web and Appliance. Though we are all located in Stockholm today, we represent six different nationalities, mostly males but not all. Some have kids, others like to climb, do their own tattoos or food, both cooking and eating. We have one team member who is crazy about his car; it shines. And we would love to add even more interests, backgrounds, and perspectives to the team. We are not looking for someone who simply fits in, but someone who can add to who we are and help us see the work in new ways.
