About The Role
Number of Hours per Rotation: In a 1 week rotation : 5 shift(s) of 7.5 hours
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
As a member of the Epidemiology and Performance Measurement management team, the Provincial Manager, Analytics is responsible and accountable for supervising the daily organization and administration of the Analytics unit.
Reporting to the Director Epidemiology, Analytics and Surveillance, the Analytics Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of data analytics experts and health care professionals to develop, maintain, and deliver operational analytic reports while addressing and meeting ad hoc reporting requests on time. The Manager will work with the Director to coordinate and lead the SCA internal centre of excellence as a source of truth for operational analytical reporting. The manager will manage the daily workflow and performance of the team while proactively developing new and innovative reporting models. They will manage the processes and people responsible for accurate data capture, processing, modeling analysis and knowledge translation. The Analytics Manager works closely with leaders across the SCA to support and implement high-quality, data-driven decisions.
The Provincial Manager may be expected to act in the absence of the Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Health Sciences field, Computer Sciences, or Epidemiology. PhD degree is an asset.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a position monitoring, managing, manipulating and drawing insights from data
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience leading a team.
- Experience is preferred in one or more of the following fields: quality improvement, data science, healthcare performance measurement, or business administration.
- A combination of education and leadership experience may be considered.
SKILLS
- Strong interpersonal, planning, organization, facilitation, analytical, problem-solving, conflict resolution, project management, and change management skills.
- Solid leadership and management competencies, consistent with Agency expectations for individuals in leadership and management roles.
- Capable of communicating effectively and with diplomacy, both in writing and verbally, including communication of complex ideas to a variety of audiences.
- Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems
- Understanding of and experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units.
- Experience and knowledge of statistical modeling techniques: GLM multiple regression, logistic regression, log-linear regression, variable selection, etc.
- Experience writing advanced SAS code statements, models, and macros an asset.
- Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards using all relevant data to inform decisions.
- Experience using analytics techniques to contribute to organizational growth efforts, evaluation and planning.
- Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities.
- Strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes, people and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills.
- Proficiency working in a computer-based environment using Windows, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.
