About The Role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our specialist team on a casual basis with an immediate start!

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside our experienced Oral Surgeons and Prosthodontists in a specialist clinical environment. A key focus of this role is assisting Oral Surgeons during surgical procedures, while also supporting the wider prosthodontic team in delivering exceptional patient care and advanced restorative treatment.

You'll play an important role in ensuring patients feel safe, informed, and comfortable throughout their treatment journey, while contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of our specialist practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Oral Surgeons during a range of surgical procedures, providing clinical support before, during, and after treatment.
  • Monitor and support patients throughout their treatment journey, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with our Prosthodontists and wider clinical team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, surgical equipment, instruments, and clinical materials for procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of infection prevention, sterilisation, and clinical compliance.
  • Provide patients with treatment information and post-operative care instructions.
  • Support the wider practice team with clinical and administrative duties as required.
  • Contribute to a professional, collaborative, and patient-focused practice environment.

We're looking for a caring, confident, and adaptable Registered Nurse who enjoys working in a specialist clinical environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care.

To be successful in this role, you'll have

  • Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
  • Current NZRC CORE Immediate (or equivalent) resuscitation certification.
  • Previous experience in surgical, procedural, theatre, oral surgery, or specialist clinical settings preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to put patients at ease.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A patient-centred approach and commitment to delivering exceptional care.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
  • Valid New Zealand work rights.
  • The ability to commute reliably to our Nelson practice.
