Schedule

  • PRN – 12 hours a week
  • Rotating shifts, 7:00am – 7:00pm and 7:00pm – 7:00am

No Weekends

No holidays

Typical Responsibilities

  • Performing and documenting patient assessments within the LPN scope of practice.
  • Obtaining and monitoring vital signs.
  • Administering medications, including oral, topical, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications as permitted by policy.
  • Monitoring patients for changes in condition and reporting concerns to the RN or provider.
  • Assisting with admission, discharge, and transfer processes.
  • Providing wound care and dressing changes.
  • Caring for surgical drains, ostomies, and urinary catheters.
  • Collecting specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, toileting, ambulation, and feeding as needed.

Knows and uses the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to individual patients. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team. Evaluates response to interventions and patient status toward goal achievement. Accepts delegated nursing measures for which he or she knows he or she is prepared, qualified and licensed to perform.

  • Requires graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
  • Requires an active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) LPN license.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Successful completion of orientation required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
