Senior Accountant

About The Role
Southern Financial Reporting is looking for a Senior Accountant to support various departmental objectives including, but not limited to, month-end accounting activities, SEC reporting requirements, and intercompany analysis. The successful candidate will bring strong accounting skills, sound judgment, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Perform accounting, analysis, and reporting activities for assigned business areas.
- Prepare and review journal entries and financial reporting packages.
- Complete financial tie-outs in support of periodic 10-Q/K reporting requirements.
- Complete account reconciliations and perform variance analysis to help ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Execute and maintain internal controls and related supporting documentation.
- Analyze intercompany account balances and resolve discrepancies with business partners across the system.
- Leverage technology, automation, and emerging tools to enhance accounting and reporting processes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- At least 5 years of accounting or related experience required
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud, Oracle FCC, and/or similar ERP and reporting systems.
- Experience with Workiva and Kyriba platforms.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of intercompany accounting and/or debt reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with automation or AI-enabled efficiency tools.
