About The Role

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own and advance the engineering of Microsoft Sentinel and Azure security capabilities.
  • Design and improve enterprise security monitoring, detection, automation, and security controls.
  • Solve complex security problems spanning cloud, infrastructure, identity, networks, applications, and manufacturing environments.
  • Review infrastructure and application designs, identify security risks and attack paths, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Serve as a security SME within CAB, reviewing significant changes and providing security recommendations and technical critique.
  • Evaluate security risks associated with AI technologies, including enterprise AI adoption, applications, data exposure, integrations, and emerging AI threats.
  • Evaluate emerging threats and vulnerabilities and determine their relevance to the organization.
  • Work effectively with infrastructure, application, cloud, network, manufacturing, and business teams.
  • Explain complex security concepts and risks clearly to both highly technical and non-technical audiences.

Education & Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant cybersecurity or security engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience or industry certifications may also be considered.
  • Deep hands-on engineering experience with Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure security.
  • Strong security engineering fundamentals across infrastructure, cloud, identity, networking, and applications.
  • Experience working within the manufacturing industry or similarly complex enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of AI security, including security implications involving enterprise AI, applications, data, and integrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently solve difficult technical problems involving multiple technologies or teams.
  • Ability to assess unfamiliar architectures and identify security issues that may not be immediately obvious.
  • Experience providing security architecture, design, or change-review recommendations.
  • Strong scripting, automation, and security data analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex security concepts in clear language, influence technical decisions, and defend security recommendations.

  • Scripting and programming experience.
  • Knowledge across enterprise identity, cloud platforms, network and firewall security, routing and switching, operating systems, and email security.
  • Experience working across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
  • Demonstrated technical capability, engineering judgment, and relevant experience matter more.
  • Experience with a broad range of enterprise security technologies is expected; however, we are intentionally not prescribing a specific collection of security products or vendor certifications.
  • Candidates should demonstrate technical depth and hands-on experience beyond the technologies specifically identified in this description.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based or remote work in a fast-paced technology environment.
  • May require occasional after-hours or on-call support for security incidents and emergencies.
  • Prolonged periods of computer use, monitoring systems, and analyzing security data.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Ability to perform repetitive keyboard and mouse tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry computer or networking equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
