Location: Onsite role in Indianapolis, IN
Pay Range: $20/hour USD
Job Summary
- Assists the Warehouse Manager and coordinates the activities of staff members engaged in storing, inventorying, issuing and delivering materials and supplies from the Warehouse.
- What You'll Do...
- Oversees and processes incoming receipts to the Warehouse staging area and put- away in rack locations.
- Maintains control framework for put-away transactions to ensure that accountability (track-ability) is maintained for materials put-away in rack locations.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow for Warehouse Associates.
- Determines space requirements and organization of staged materials and products.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency.
- Directs the movement of material between rack locations in the warehouse to support the most effective utilization.
- Collects data for Warehouse capacity and OTIF.
- Administers work rules, procedures and policies in a fair and consistent manner by adhering to agreed upon corporate guidelines
- Inspects Forklifts for defects and notifies Maintenance and the Warehouse Manager of repairs needed.
- Promotes staff development by facilitating training and development activities for staff members and providing regular feedback on team members to the Warehouse Manager.
- Acts as a role model to staff members by exhibiting the values and behaviors expected of a leader.
- Promotes a positive work environment by addressing staff members concerns in a timely and appropriate manner and ensuring that all staff members are treated fairly.
- May interact on a daily basis with a variety of members of the organization, from shipping, receiving, value streams, purchasing, sales, and production operations, as well as any other staff member in need of services from the Warehouse.
What You'll Bring...
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent and 3 – 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience must include working in a warehouse, shipping, receiving or inventory control environment.
- Bilingual encouraged – English (primary) Spanish (secondary)
- Must be capable of effectively and respectfully interacting with individuals in a variety of organizational roles and levels of responsibility both at Pratt and outside of the organization.
- Exhibits strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain an organized staging area at all times.
- Must possess the ability to maintain an appropriate and professional business demeanor even under short deadline and high-pressure circumstances.
- Requires a team-oriented working style and excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to efficiently communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Must follow all safety guidelines at all times.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to follow instructions provided verbally, in writing or in diagram form.
- Ability to effectively provide direction in verbal, written and diagram form to other staff members.
- Must either be forklift certified or must be willing to become certified to operate a forklift. This position requires the use of Scissor Lifts, Sit-down and Straddle Reach fork trucks.
- Extensive computer use required, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, Outlook and ERP Systems or Warehouse/Inventory Management databases.
Physical Demands
- Ability to frequently lift 25lbs
- Ability to occasionally lift 50lbs or more
- Will work in a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned office with adequate ventilation, and/or in the warehouse and on the production floor among temperature changes, varying noise levels and vibrations, and in close proximity to machines with moving and electrical parts. There is potential of exposure to fumes, odors and chemicals.
