Job Summary

The Document Control Specialist II is responsible for maintaining the integrity of product data. Supports creating and updating processes, documentation of existing products and life cycle status of products and components. They will maintain correspondences, review and draft documents, and compile product documentation packages.

The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, and collaborative, with a strong interest in global mobility, cross-border employment matters, and supporting a positive employee experience throughout the assignment life cycle.

Job Description

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Update engineering documentation as directed by engineers.
  • Create and maintain product and component lifecycles in Oracle
  • Compile product documentation packages, ensuring all documentation is present
  • Maintain critical correspondence (electronic and hard copies when necessary)
  • Review draft documents for nonconforming information. Correct as necessary to ensure the documents remain clean and compliant
  • Create and manage approval workflow for final procedures, documents, records, and drawings
  • Work with team members to ensure proper maintenance and retention of all qualifying documents and information
  • Ensure that document retention and review systems are compliant with internal and external standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education

  • An associate’s degree or higher in a relevant field from a Community College or an accredited Technical Institute

Desirable

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field

Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Office 365 apps (SharePoint, etc.)

  • Experience with Oracle ERP, Smartsheet
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suit
  • Print and distribute documents as needed
  • Scan and upload documents according to company procedure
  • Create templates for use by team members
  • Create and maintain document records structure
  • Collect and register all technical documents such as drawings, BoM, Test procedures, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions, drawings, layouts, and other related technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability in cross-functional environment
  • Innovative, Open-minded, collaborative, and a team-oriented attitude
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple people and managing multiple and diverse tasks/projects
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Experience

  • 3 or more years of experience as a Technical Document Specialist, Technical Writer or similar role

Desirable

  • 5+ years of applicable experience as a Technical Document Specialist, Technical Writer or similar role

Languages

  • English

The employee must be able to climb ladders and move over, under and around large drives, wires, and motors. The vision requirements include: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust, focus and the ability to differentiate colors
